My revealing question will be from now on "if it was the last day of your life, what would you do?"

Which one?

Spend it with their kids.

That’s true, and I think the answer would be obvious to most people, parents and non alike. Less obvious is connecting this truth to your essay on having kids and someone’s initial decision to have or not. The decision to have kids is less clear to them than this truth.

But should it be less clear? If you have kids, you’d spend your last day with them to the exclusion of all options: sex, work, travel. Perhaps evidence to consider having them in the first place, because they’re clearly more important than anything else to the people that do.
