Shorter essays are better too :) . Feels like you’re explaining to a twitter audience and not people you first started writing for (?) — if I can even say this. Maybe, why it drewww out. “Be concise” No ? :)

Your essay raises genuinely interesting questions. One of many: what would happen if a person with haters and fanboys habitually responds to encounters with both with compassion and gratitude? At least internally.
