I did at least follow my own advice about launching fast. We had nothing. Applications were emails, which we printed out and each wrote our grades on the top of, like exams in a class.

What would you do to launch fast, if you were the founder of Tesla?

Start with a limited production sports car using as many components as possible from some existing car, like say a Lotus.
