Not sure if it's just me, but footnotes don't seem to be working on the last essays. Just checked the Growth essay and they still work there.
I stopped including them in the main body of the text. Only about 5 people seem to have noticed. I think most people either don't read them, or read them afterward.

I read them, but the “back” button didn’t work in Safari which made returning back harder. Now it is usable, but feels a little bit less connected. New series essays are shorter, so works fine.

I suspect many more have noticed, but haven't spoken up, as that is the situation I find myself in. I miss the in-text links, and since you wrote viaweb and HN, I *know* it's as easy for you to include them as to skip it. Please revert to including them!
