You need a setting where they aren't too busy to ask this, right? Isn't it awkward to ask people those questions while they're busy doing what they do? I'm just trying to understand the environment when you ask them that question.

Good question. It doesn't have to be while they're on the job. Here are a few. -Uber/Lyft ride -family gathering -haircut (I had someone cut my hair who was getting a PI license!) -meetups Plus, people have areas of expertise that aren't work-related.

Same. I do this with Uber drivers, for example. If it's an airport run, there's plenty of time to learn from them. My last two drivers taught me about railroad maintenance and Ford's long-term production strategy!
