The only reason that I'm not vegan is the delicious taste of meat! With the rise of lab-grown meat startups, I won't have that problem, either! Startups ftw!

“Correlation doesn’t imply causation.” I couldn’t read the full article, but is it proven that the increase of people going vegan is the cause of the drop in consumption? I think potential vegans are already very low on consumption, hardly moving the needle. What about prices?
-
It could also mean increased availability of beef alternatives. Has volume of chicken production increased? I’ve noticed chickenprice have stayed low relative to other meats. Also Chick Fil A and Popoyes have become very popular.

Not everyone need to go vegan to have an impact on meat sales, actually if enough people just go meat-less one day of the week is more than enough to send a message to that industry.

Great news in two ways: means meat replacements in the past decade have got significantly better and more ubiquitous. And if meat becomes a lux / sometime dish, it will make it better quality + higher price = better for human, animal, planet. (I was veg for 19 ys until recently)

Never tasted meat my entire life. Story of millions in my country
