One of the big differences between my children and myself as a child is that my kids never want to leave the house. When I was a kid, you had to go out to watch movies or eat pizza or (I'm that old) play video games. Now they come to you.

Ditto my 3 kids, and like most things pros and cons. Me and my sisters always left the house and we smoked pot, raided liquor cabinets, played on construction sites, etc. Your kids at home +sports +parties not so bad.

It feels like I spent most of my childhood playing on construction sites. But smoking pot and raiding liquor cabinets was a distinctly later phase, at least for me.
