If you... 1) develop a bias for moving fast 2) consistently ask, “What’s the real goal here and is there a better way to accomplish it?” ... you can accomplish a lot in one life.

I’d argue that strict adherence to measuring progress - especially at very very early stages - isn’t always necessary and, at worst, counterproductive.

It depends very much on the kind of work you're doing, and you have to be careful to pick the right measure, or you'll end up optimizing the wrong thing.
