What date range from now is a fairly near future target?
When politicians commit to emissions targets, it would be more convincing if (a) the dates were in the fairly near future and (b) the politicians agreed to resign if they failed to hit the target.

B/ Politicians centralised success on themselves and distribute failures to legacy systems / opposition, so I cant see this happening any time soon! But its a nice thought.
