It would be funny if, a generation from now, the kids of today's twenty-somethings make fun of them for constantly getting sucked into outrage mobs. What are you "calling out" today, Dad?

That is the other possibility. But I'm optimistic. Addictions tend to go out of fashion eventually. Unfortunately they'll probably have some other even worse addiction we couldn't even anticipate, like hanging out with AIs in VR.
