I'm not an investor, with money+++ looking for deal flow to fill top of my funnel.
I understand, but for what it's worth, I'm not looking for deal flow at this point either. When I agree to meet with young founders it's usually out of curiosity or because I like what they're doing or because I owe someone a favor. Or randomness.
What I've is experience as an underpaid founder still in trenches w/ 150% of my networth tied up in equity on a sheet of paper, but clearly with value to add to someone further earlier. Agreeing to lunch at someone's behest is not occasion to wreck my finances.
You have a point with your thread but @paulg does too. Maybe you split the difference? Help as much as possible & ensure they know your time & finances are valuable also.
Paul,when are we doing lunch in SF? I'll be there in Feb to continue building product market fit for my startup and the last time I was there I practically lived on 7 eleven cuisine
