Good point. Most of the time, “strategic” is a BS filler word people sprinkle on their text to sound more sophisticated.

Isn't the point of "strategic" investors supposed to be that their motives/desires are (more) aligned with yours?

They couldn't be more aligned, at least financially, than an investor who simply buys shares in your company.

They can be bad LP/ growth investors due to alignment issues. They are generally good control/ buyout investors.
