Yup. I'm with
@paulg on this one. But also add that the Internet at that time finally had the crypto it needed, but sorely lacked reliable payment infrastructure. But too much openness has never been a problem there. -
I think it’s a fun theory to contemplate, which is why I tweeted it. But I wouldn’t seriously investigate it, doesn’t seem likely.
