That is such a great idea. Leaderboards are magic.
It just occurred to me that you don't need to wait for the government to do this. A nonprofit could do it now. The big accounting and tax prep firms could authenticate the numbers on behalf of their clients.

That’s basically how it is in Norway. All tax paid is publicly available, searchable by postcode and tabloids every year run “top 100” etc... took some getting used to but it’s an interesting system.
