Human ability to organise and manage has grown with human population. So relative scale remains similar.
Reading Wycherley's "The Country Wife." I don't think you could get away with writing that play now. Strange to think we're more conservative in 2019 than people were in 1675.

The play was quite controversial and often had to get "cleaned up" significantly for audiences in the early 20th century. In 2019 it would be a Netflix series that gets written up as "problematic" but gets binge-watched anyway.

This came out from excessive regulation. Each media covered failure have bring a new law that narrow down the options. All in the name of security.
