In nature it’s easier to create a new individual than it is to do understand and fix (is do surgery on) an existing one that is injured.

Not even God might understand reality given that it founded on quantum physics. Developers are in good company. Neural networks in ML work the same way. Maybe that's the paradox of creation. What you create you can no longer understand the moment after its creation.

Same in physics. Creating from first principles is a lot different than just memorizing some derivations. Wherever there is abstraction of complexity this is true and abstraction is everywhere.

Creation ab initio is profoundly different from creation ex post. Feynman created a path of his own to general relativity, but not in ignorance of all others. Dirac opined that, had Einstein not created general relativity, we might still be searching for it.
