It takes me an annoyingly long time to get into a state of mind where I can do deep work (not just emails and ad box stuff). What are some tricks to shorten that time?

I have tried leaving some deliberate compile errors (e.g. a half finished function, but with well defined signature), when wrapping up work for the day. So that the next day, can get into the flow. It works. (But TBH, don't always do it)

Write a failing test works nicely as well.

Good one! Too often, fixing "one last easy" thing before leaving means 4 hours of creating and fixing something else, which often makes me super-un-productive next morning. Gotta try leaving that one last easy thing for the next session start.
