May I ask: if you had to pick one thing you've read that changed the course of your life, what would it be?
I've been thinking about this, and it was probably The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, which made me want to work on AI, which led to Lisp.

Interesting -I don't know what most changed my path that far back. Heinlein was up there for me, (esp. the dad in Rolling Stones telling his kids they needed to learn abstract math, so that I wanted to be a mathematician for a long time,) but my path changed several times since.
