Paul Graham once claimed that the most charismatic presidential candidate has, in the modern era, always won. Obviously not an iron law (Bush and Trump lost popular votes despite their charisma advantage and Carter won), but the charisma gap between Trump and Warren is gaping.
Electoral votes are what campaigns work for. If the popular vote was what mattered, these candidates would have got more of it.
