"It's really boring. It seems like they just googled for a bunch of stuff. But maybe it's useful to people outside the field." – book review by Trevor Blackwell

This is the same reason why most blogs/newsletters aren’t worth reading. They just regurgitate information you could easily have Googled.

You could also argue that that is why some blogs/newsletters ARE worth reading. There is value in curation.

I feel the same with many meetups too, less value, advice which are not actively solving your problem and seems like copy paste advice. Better to struggle and figure out than reaching out if it’s not adding any value.

A chatbot organizing "a bunch of stuff" to present me as a newsletter/blog post is a better option. I believe Natural language processing has a potential and those googling writers will disappear soon or they have to be innovative to write something new.

For every question no matter how complex - there likely exist a set of Google queries, executed in a certain sequence, that can answer the question to an arbitrary degree of completeness. The problem though is most people do not know how, don't have time or are too lazy to do so.
