The two kinds of people - those who want money, and those who want status.
I think there are at least 4 other drives: curiosity, craftsmanship, wanting to make the world better, and wanting to take care of people. At least those are the good ones. There are a few more I prefer not to think about.

I agree. Regarding myself , it was taking care of people by becoming a neurosurgeon.

The last one is most powerful, especially when those people are your family. There is no stronger drive than making sure your family is going to be okay.
