At $30/hr and class of 10, the cost of a teacher is $480/student/mo. Add facilities, admin etc, cost is ~$1000/student/mo. A private school in areas with bad public schools but cheaper houses are huge opportunity. People are paying for good public schools via much higher mortgage
Austen would know. If there's one thing that would be better to compete with than universities, it's schools.

What makes schools tough to compete with in the US is that they're prepaid for most via property taxes. I think the key will be getting local jurisdictions to agree to spend property tax dollars on homeschools and make them an option for parents. Startup I'd like to work for...
