I was helping some startups in the current YC batch get ready for Demo Day. A founder from a year ago dropped by. I asked if he had any advice for them. "Don't spent your money," he said. Will they listen? Probably not any more than they usually do. But we can hope.
Today another founder from a year ago showed up. I asked him if he had any advice for the current batch. Want to guess what it was? "Be really lean."

I agree with that mindset. Who would agree to?: "Let's build a non efficient machine / company." Lately when you listen or read stuff about creating a monopoly / first to market tech company it goes against lean. Not a fan of that / wastefulness.
What's lean? Lean in terms of cost of the the product or service involved?
I'm very good at not spending it, just make it hard for me to reach it.
