Journalism as an institution and craft is good: find facts and share what is going on. The problem lies with the business model of many media companies and the incentives on social media to go beyond those principles to gain attention which perverse journalistic integrity.

You nailed it. Biz model is a problem; also lack of regs. The business of news has led to excessive growth & greed. Gov has responsibility to keep media corps in check to prevent consolodation. Also, execs must be held accountable for keeping journalistic standards high.
