I cannot trust @amazon to pack & deliver a book well enough for it to arrive in good condition. I had a very nice softcover book wrapped in a flimsy plastic bag, delivered all rolled up in my mailbox, leaving it terribly warped, bent, etc. My bills arrived in better condition.

I went to buy the einstein: creator and rebel book the other day, shipping to NZ was 10x the cost of the book & 5x the cost of printing a new book. I guess small / isolated country problems. Will check my local library for it.

Why are you not reading ebooks? Better in so many ways...genuinely curious

Absolutely a huge fan of bookshops. And as it turns out their books—even the very old ones—are often in excellent condition. I’ll have to remember to try your suggestion more often; I’ve been far too easily suckered into the quickness of buying books off Amazon.
