Something Lambda School shares with YC: they can't accept many more students than they can get hired, just as YC can't accept many more startups than they can get funded. I can tell you from experience that this constraint is wonderfully focusing.

Wasn’t that a pivot? Have they funded many esports companies on purpose?

Pivot in terms of market but not the actual tech, I'm not super familiar on the history but i'm pretty sure they saw that people were using http://justin.tv to stream games and just went with it.
