once got this super useful advice: if you can’t explain something in one tweet that is easily re-tweetable, you need to go back to the drawing board.
The way to make the friend-to-friend message work effectively is to tell them what it is. Not overtly; just give them a phrase to copy. But it's a test of honesty for you. If you use marketing-speak, it won't stick.
