Not like I expect a politician to do anytime useful in the first place, but the ludicrous nature of suggesting to eliminate or "forgive" debt makes me distrust the politician even more.

I love how this thinking is mostly common among people who code, and it's understandable, in terms of complexity in STEM programming apps is the simplest thing one can do. I would love to see how this bootcamp thinking works for people from the other technical fields.

It’s generally true that CS school is the worst. I couldn’t have done my math BS degree in 9 months. My brain couldn’t have assimilated that much info. Plus there were related science subjects to learn.

Has anyone ever analysed by tution fees are going up in the first place? Is it driven by increased spending on professors, brought about by greater job opportunities in the real economy? Or are universities just enriching themselves?

The most successful universities already have large enough endowements to continue in perpetuity without charging tuition at all. Schools charge massive tuition because they know the government will foot the bill.

I hate to be the one saying this, but my concern was always: how can you induce so much debt when TAs & al. are so over-worked and under-paid? Sure, the financing is smart, but I’m a lot more curious about how Lambda scales and uses it’s trainers.
