But still better to explicitly set out time for your kids than to leave it to chance because the best moments are unpredictable? I don't think quality time is mistaken.

Setting aside 4-hour appointments with each child on a regular basis twice a week is great for building strong
#relationships with each child.#Quality time is the one on one time that you give your undivided attention to your child outdoors, in the kitchen, and in a library.

Yep, much like that scene in the movie Chef when the kid teaches Twitter to his dad. The dad had no clue that this was a great moment for the kid, until the kid told him.

Which still implies having & spending the time. I think the meta-point is being obscured. If you don't find the time to spend, none of this happens. Questions of random / spontaneous are less important than "are you present?"

I always thought 'quality time' is the time we spend with our kids without any (work) distraction.

Somehow it also implies "small amount but high quality and undistracted (but still small)"
