Retweet-with-comment seems to me an instance of being fooled by short term engagement numbers. No doubt it does increase engagement; they wouldn't have released it otherwise. But in the long term, the bad behavior that it encourages poisons the system and may ultimately kill it.

On that note, it's so interesting to see so much feedback from people using the platform both on and of it but for the company to move very slow on any changes.
