There’s nothing technologically stopping browsers from being as good as native apps. Browsers **are** native apps.

A browser must support all kind of things that your app doesn't need. And it does not integrate well with the rest of the system (unless the browser becomes the OS, wich is what Google wants and Microsoft ignores for some reason).
