Incidentally, any government that uses tax incentives (= practically every government) is implicitly stating that they do not believe this.

Additionally, isn’t it immoral of the govt to offer incentives to attract companies and then renegotiate after the fact? Incentives work so I’m not sure I understand Biden’s moral outrage.

1) No they’re not. They could be stating that they don’t trust the company to uphold their moral obligations...which, duh 2) Re: the original post, Biden is obviously saying that we need to increase the legal obligation. No new framework needed!

Paul is right, but you're both looking too statically, and I think the situation is simpler. Politician trying to get elected to _change_ the law to it align to their morality. The whole argument is based on them being out of wack.
