Different ideas seem obvious to different groups. If you would have told me and my friends 10 years ago about Twitch it would’ve seemed like an obviously good idea while older generations thought it was a bad idea. (hint: don’t underestimate the opinion of the younger crowd)
Indeed, I was incredulous when the founders told me they were focusing on gameplay. But you couldn't argue with the numbers.
It paid off big time. They created an entire generation of kids that will grow up wanting to become “streamers.” IMO streaming over the next 10 years will explode like YouTube channels did over the last 10 (and I still think YT “content creators” will continue to flourish).
