Feels so wrong when you put it that way. I mean, making a thing is supposed to be the process of having the thing do a thing more like the thing you want it to do over time, right? No! It means you conceptualize it possibly doing the thing and then removing reasons it doesn't.
Something I taught a 7 yo today: Most of making things is figuring out why they don't work.
