I think many assume "parenting" with nurture vs nature. Nurturing happens through all of the relationships in society, not just parents. And relationships aren't just related to humans.

Exactly, nurture doesn't mean the parent raises and molds what the child becomes, it means the child autonomously develops and acquires the ability to participate in the rich varieties of practice that make up culture. Adults provide scaffolding to support autonomous development.
