Does Fox News follow the facts?
My point is that journalists don't simply follow the facts. They also pander to their audience's biases. In the case of Fox News, this is what most of their coverage consists of. But it is a big component of some tech coverage too.

Journalists follow incentives, more so now than at any other point in our lifetimes. Most are so hopelessly constrained by the attention arms race that facts have become more of an inconvenience than something to strive for.
