tbh if you are hoping that journalists will ever hesitate to hold successful/powerful entities accountable for their behavior and actions, you’re in for a rotten time my friend.
I wouldn't want them to stop holding the powerful accountable. And I have no hope they'll stop pandering to their readers' desire to see the powerful brought down. That's where the clicks are.

I think people just want to be aware of any untoward activities conducted by companies who they trust with their data and money. it’s not too unreasonable to expect that factual reporting on that topic would get clicks.
