They certainly do. But that is far from the only motive driving coverage of successful founders, any more than it is driving coverage of other famous people.

I think two things can be true here. 1) the media impulse to build up underdogs and scrutinize giants is a kind of bias, which can sometimes lead the press to fetishize takedowns of powerful institutions 2) powerful institutions deserve more scrutiny and they mess up a ton
