It's surprising Massachusetts isn't one of those forward-thinking states. On Friday, the only nuclear station which provides 14% of the power in the state and most of the renewable energy (if one views nuclear as renewable, which I do) will stop generating power permanently.

It seems like it's mainly economic: Tax incentives exist for natural gas and other energy sources that don't exist for nuclear. I'd love to see these new plants take off!
