Biographies of famous people often mention how they worked at night and on weekends, as if this were painful for them. But if you like what you do, nights and weekends are the best time to work. That's when you get those wonderful big blocks of time without interruptions.

The two are compatible if you have the flexibility to wake up late the next day. Some occupations give you this flexibility, some do not.

You can't do great work when you're exhausted. So the rate at which you can progress is limited by the amount of time left over after you get sufficient sleep.
