Did YC's growth take on a mind of its own (even outside of your control), or as it grew did you recalibrate your goals and start to try to make it bigger?

It grew by itself. Every batch there were more applications, and we either had to grow proportionally or reject promising startups. And what if you reject the Airbnb?
