Out of curiosity, speaking of Mankiw making $42m in royalties for that blockbuster. Does he price discriminate much? For instance, surely there’s some effort to find affordable pricing at community colleges or schools with many non traditional students. Maybe not?

A principles textbook is more than a book. The Sapling course management system for Modern Principles is multi million $ investment. Huge test bank took years to create. Salesforce that visits professors is surprisingly important. U presses not ready for $$$ invest over decades.
