I've never said I wouldn't invest in a woman with young kids. I've invested in quite a lot of them. In fact YC's most recent acquisition, Bitnami, was founded by one. When @ericabrescia came to her YC interview, she brought her son with her, because she was still nursing.

In the case of
@APatelThompson, having small children was a critical advantage, because her experience as a parent led to both her first startup, Poppy, and the even better idea she got as a result of working on it.

Yep! Jack was two weeks old and I had to bring my mom in the car to watch him while Daniel and I had our interview. That was a loooong day! I also had to pump in the bathroom during demo day! I found YC to be very supportive.
