Why is having cofounder so important? There have been single founder companies that are extremely successful than the ones with cofounders.
Morale. Starting a startup is so hard that not many people can bear it alone.

So true. I was a single founder for 1.5 years and it was brutal. Started again after the startup failed, but this time with two great people (one of them being my wife). Soo much better. A big difference is the sheer number of ideas you are able to generate with a great team.
