It would have cheered me up a lot to know that there was a real world outside of high school where things were not so bogus. And I probably would have been better at the fake work we were given if I'd been told it was just a sort of game.

One odd thing teaching college students taught me is that a substantial minority of students like and even prefer the game, and will become actively hostile if told that the game is a game.

Mind if I ask, how much is a “substantial minority”? Could it be...~30% The same 30% who become far right as adults? Yup.
