This advice usually comes from people who have made a lot of money. I’d be surprised to find many people who became rich who didn’t have money as a significant part of their goals.
Of course. What he means (I assume) is that you shouldn't be motivated only by money.

For sure, I think that’s the right advice. But not often how it’s presented by those with wealth who make it sound like they just focused on passion and the money rolled in.
