It's fun to think of which people do use Twitter effectively to develop ideas, and what patterns they use. Tweetstorms are an interesting form, IMO, in part because there is a small but real pressure to make each tweet count. I know my essays could do with more of that pressure

I agree, but I also like the ability to freely refine short aphorism-like phrases without initially stressing about how they will be received.
