When I teach my kids about discoveries, I focus on trying to recreate what people thought before the discovery – in particular, how obvious the earlier, mistaken model of the world seemed. How obvious it seemed that the sun orbited the earth, or that a creator made the species.

How do you teach them about evolution? Having a hard time with that one.
Start with selective breeding, then explain how in the wild competition selects.

The deeper I go into biology, technical ecosystems, linguistics, and religions, the more obvious it becomes that everyone is saying the same things, in different ways. Its the same diamond. Similar with global warming.
