My kids are always coming up with startup ideas. I decided the 10 yo is now old enough to hear the truth: if you want to start a startup, the thing to be doing at 10 is learning the things that will enable you to have good startup ideas at 20. How to program especially.

That’s a bigger conversation on where one goes to better understand their peers & team :) Huge believer in empathy in the workplace and this is one way to get there. I learned CSS 15 years ago for the reason you’re pointing out. It was a big help.

Not that CSS was that helpful but at the time it at least put me in the trenches with the team.

I think the code first view of the world yields good results in the consumer world, but I think it fails industries that need real, deep innovation, like AEC. You end up with “consumer” solutions that might make some money but don’t solve big problems
