Parents who hover over your kids at the playground and panic over small tumbles & messes: please stop. If you want to impair your own kid's social, physical, and mental development, that's your business, but when you do it in public you're also messing up *my* kid.

What I do in such situations is explain to my kid that the other parents are overprotective and that they're turning their kids into wimps. Even 2 year olds can get this.

What is your educational stance about your kids about violence and physical altercations in general? I have a great conundrum about the topic, being a child of the 90's i realize I've been bred to hate violence in any form.

I tell them never to hit anyone, but if someone hits them they can fight back. It's a moot point though because there doesn't seem to be any bullying at their school.
